There are so many things to see and do in the area that it is difficult to list them all! However, here are a few of our favourites:
- Have a barbecue on the shore beside Rowan Bank.
- Following the coastal walk from Port an Eorna to Drumbuie – there is a good spot to fish from called Fisherman’s Rock.
- Have a meal out in Plockton (there are several good places to eat) and catch the last train home - remember to ask the conductor to stop at Duirinish or you could end up in Kyle!
- Walking to the Crags above Plockton – only 45 minutes and an amazing view.
- Applecross - driving over the Bealach na Ba which you see from the house is an adventure and there is excellent food at the Applecross Inn.
- Spectacular walking in Kintail and Torridon.
- Skye has a lot to offer - even the trip over the bridge is fun. As an example, walk the Quiriang on Skye –and then have well-deserved afternoon tea and cakes at the Flodigarry Hotel.
- Elgol is a nice drive and on a good day affords amazing views of the Cuillins and the Islands of Eigg and Rhum. You can also take a rib or boat trip from Elgol(see link on Contacts page).
- There is a whisky distillery (Talisker) on Skye, and Neist Point lighthouse (above) is a bit of a trek but worth it to reach the westerly-most point on Skye, which looks out over the Minch to islands of Harris, the Uists and Benbecula.
